What Is Book Coaching?
Unlike traditional editing that targets only words on the page, Book Coaching offers personalized guidance for your unique writing needs.
Book Coaches develop collaborative relationships with writers to help them develop their craft and steer them toward their writing goals.

Picture Books
Starting at $180
Picture books may seem simple, but to be successful, they must meet specific criteria and appeal to a wide audience (think: toddlers who can’t read yet, and the adults reading to them). My picture book packages are focused on developmental editing—designed to help you nail crucial components like plot, character, and tone. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or a novice with a great idea, I’ve got a package to suit your needs!

We brainstorm together to help you flesh out character, plot, and other story elements. Additional coaching sessions are a great way to keep you accountable to your writing practice.

We meet on Zoom for 1 hour, and I provide you broad strokes feedback (e.g., “Your main character’s motivation is clearer in this version because …” or “The tone in this version is darker than you might intend because …”). You have the opportunity to ask questions and brainstorm with feedback.

This means I return your manuscript with Track Changes and suggested edits marked in-line. We meet via Zoom for 1 hour to discuss my suggestions. You have the opportunity to ask questions and brainstorm changes.
KidLit

My KidLit packages are tailored to your unique needs and goals. In all cases, I evaluate the pacing, story, and voice, and provide editing at the line level to improve clarity, flow, and readability.

Starting at $0.04–$0.05 per word
I bring my experience as a trained social scientist and educational researcher to every academic manuscript I edit. I work with academics from a range of disciplines and look forward to helping you polish your manuscript—whether that’s for a book, journal, grant proposal, or dissertation*. I am especially skilled at fine-tuning language for clarity and flow, and as such, my edits are a combination of line and copy-editing.
